Urgent! Moscow Bans Public Events until April 10

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has banned all mass demonstrations of more than 5,000 people until April 10. According to the news agency RIA Novosti, the mayor issued these orders on March 10.

The ban affects “sporting, entertainment, public, and other mass events.”

The news outlets RBC and TASS previously reported that Moscow officials had canceled an annual festival to celebrate Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

The heat of the city has signed a ban of public events with more than 5000 participants. It comes to effect to day and valid until April 10.

The city festival called “the Crimean Spring” ( due to open on March 14) will be cancelled!

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced a “high alert regime,” ordering self-isolation for Russians returning from China, South Korea, Iran, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Russia cancelled its flagship International Business Events – the annual St Petersburg International Economic Forum this year as a precaution against coronavirus, The forum was due to open in St Petersburg on June 3-6.
