The year 2020 has kicked off with the Moscow’s biggest and longest Christmas festival in its history. We are excited to see the first food festivals in our parks in April – May, to join the music lovers in June and July to see much-awaited international musicians in our city. Along with these events, there will be dozens of festivals held in Moscow throughout the year.

The “Proryv” (“Breakthrough”) Extreme Sports Festival – April 17 – April 18 2020

Once again the organizers of the fest will build up a special stage and a track so all the participants will have space to demonstrate their excellence and to perform extraordinary tricks.

Moscow Knight Festival -Updated June 12 – June 15 2020

The International Knight Festival ‘Tournament of St. George’ will be held in Moscow at the Kolomenskoye museum-reserve in the middle of June 2020.Nine most famous knights from Russia, Norway and France will compete at the 4th St. George International Tournament. Participants of the festival will joust with solid wood spears, fight in team fisticuffs and one-on-ones with two-handed melees. Check the details here (Russian)

Afisha Picnic Festival – August

Every summer the Afisha Festival brings great music and fun to Kolomentskoe park in Moscow for a day. In 2020 the line up will feature sone international music bands along with a selection of local music stars. The International Military Music Festival – ‘Spasskaya Tower’ opens by the end of August on Red Square.The best of Russian and foreign military bands and folk groups, as well as honorary guard units of the heads of states, will take part in the event. The best of Russian and foreign military bands and folk groups, as well as honorary guard units of the heads of states, will take part in the event. At the end of each performance a joint band of all the participants – around 1,500 musicians – will appear on the Red Square. The city of Moscow celebrates its birthday in the beginning of September. Parades and fairs, carnivals and concerts, artists’ shows and traditional grandiose fireworks are all planned in celebration of the holiday.The festival venues are scattered throughout the city, however the main events are traditionally held on Tverskaya Street, in the Red Square, on Vasilievsky Slope, Poklonnaya Hill and Sparrow Hills. Entrance is free.

The Circle of Light Moscow International Festival is an annual event and the biggest Light festival in Europe! World famous designers and 2D and 3D graphic specialists utilize the urban space of Moscow as canvas for multimedia and light installations. Entrance to any festival venue is free (there are usually from 4 to six venues) . The festival opens by the end of September.
