A long-standing European tradition to celebrate Christmas and New Year with the music of Johann Strauss, inspired the CONCORD ORCHESTRA to create an annual show on the New Year’s Eve. Strauss music is so beautiful and harmonious that one wants to listen it repeatedly. 

This is a terrific event filled with the magnificent music of the waltz king and magical dances. 

On December 23, 2018, at 18:00, the CONCORD ORCHESTRA invites you to its annual Johann Strauss Snow-White Ball New Year Show. Traditionally, this New Year Eve show will be held on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace.

This winter season the VTB Arena in Moscow will host a truly unique ice show based on the legendary fairy tale: the Swan Lake.

Two world-renowned Olympic-level figure skaters, Adelina Sotnikova and Yevgeny Plushenko, will present the Swan Lake as an ice show, a classical story brought to the stage with modern visual effects and technologies. The event is expected to be one of the most expensive shows of this season.

As midnight strikes on a magical Christmas Eve, a toy Nutcracker comes to life, sweeping young Marie to a world of enchantment where she meets the Mouse King, the Nutcracker Prince and, of course, the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Set against a backdrop of projections, opulent costumes, magic tricks and special effects, the cast of World Level Championship level skaters dance to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score.

The New Year Ballet Gala: Pas De Deux

The New Year Gala program will prove a magnificent and diverse showcase for top dance talent from the best Ballet troupes of Russia.The annual Ballet Gala is claimed to be  “one of the leading cultural events of Russia”. Pas de deux is a duet that is usually performed by a female and male dancer. Most classical ballets have at least one ps de deux.

Most of the Gala evening will be given over to classical repertoire, including the Legendary “Sleeping Beauty” , “The Swan Lake” and “The Nutcracker” ballets.
