BigTimeMoscow presents a grand tour of the most exciting events taking place on the 9th and 10th of September, Moscow’s 870th birthday.

The Moscow Jubilee Festival

This year the festival is dedicated to the most influential people including artists, scientists and writers who were born and lived in Moscow. The festival will open at 10 am on Tverskaya Street. Entrance is free!

The Triumphal Moscow Festival

Seven stages will be placed in the street in memory of the main achievements of the greatest Muscovites of all times. Special pop-up food stands will enhance the atmosphere with classic Russian dishes.

The Metro and Central Circle urban railway line will stay open for 24 hours during the weekend.

“Bright People 2017” art festival will encompass the entire city center, with numerous artists delivering free art performances. It will take place in Gorky Park on Sept 9 – Sept 10.Operating hours: 13.00 – 22.00.

Art Weekend 

The first autumn needlework festival–“Art Weekend”–  takes place in the ARTPLAY Design Center  on September 9 – September 10. Hand-made souvenirs, textiles, toys will be available for purchase. Visitors can view and buy  interior decorating items, designer clothes, pots and pans, and lots more. With several master-classes for kids and for adults, there will be something here for everyone to get their hands on also. Operating hours: 12.00 – 20.00. Entrance is free!


On Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. shimmering fireworks will light up the night sky of Moscow.
