Sept 8 – Sept 9

This year the Moscow BDay festival will be held in the city centre. The opening ceremony will start at 12.00 on Red Square. The festival will open at Tverskaya Street, Gorky Park, Kuznetsky Most and other central streets. Special pop-up food stands will enhance the atmosphere with classic Russian dishes.Entrance is free. At 10 p.m. shimmering fireworks will light up the night sky of Moscow.

Moscow Grill Festival

Moscow Grill Fest will be held at Flacon. The chiefs from dozens of Moscow’s restaurants and cafes will present grilled dishes based on the recipes from 10 different counties. Don’t miss out The Barbeque Championship on the weekend! Entrance is free. Operating hours 13.00 – 22.00.

Van Gogh in 3D 

Until Sept 30

The multimedia exhibition “Van Gogh. Letters to Theo” is open at ARTPLAY. The artist’s correspondence with his brother Theo spans the two major periods of his career — the years when he worked in his native Netherlands and the years spent in France. The visitors of the exhibition will get to know all the details of the artist’s life, as well as his views on art, his own place in this world.

This is an original and integrated show consisting of nine short films covering the core images used by each of the artists. In total, the exhibition displays about 1000 pieces of art from more than 20 museums all around the world. For more information, please, click here.

International Ballet Festival in the Kremlin

The “Circle of Light” Light Festival 

Sept 21 – Sept 25

The Circle of Light Moscow International Festival is an annual event at which light designers and 2D and 3D graphic designers utilize the urban space of Moscow as canvas for multimedia and light installations. Entrance to any Festival venue is free. This year the festival will open on September 21 and  will last until September 25. Check the program here.

Absolute Moscow Marathon

Sept 23

The Absolute Moscow Marathon is the largest running event in Russia. Its route offers a spectacular tour of Moscow. Over the course of the race, participants will be able to see more than 30 world-famous attractions. Start area is located near the Central alley of Luzhniki Olympic Complex.

The Guard mounting ceremony in the Kremlin

The Guard Mounting Ceremony is considered one of the most spectacular military ceremonies which have been part of the Russian military statuses and articles.

The ceremony encompasses the most spectacular elements of the Russian military ceremonies including demonstration of arms-drill and elements of horse carousel -cavalrymen are showing a so-called horse roundabout- accompanied by the President’s Band performance.

The Ceremony of the Mounting Guard is seasonal: April till October (warm season), Saturdays 12.00 at the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin. To purchase tickets, please, click here.

Moscow Flea Market

Sept 27 – Sept 30

The Annual Moscow Flea Market will be open in Moscow in September!  You can find there antique and repurposed items,  collectibles, handmade jewelry, books and art.


More than a hundred vendors will be selling their wares at Tishinskaya Square 1.
