The “Diamond Fund” Jubilee Exhibition
Until Jan 15
In honor of the jubilee, the Fund and the State Historical Museum welcome you to share in a unique cultural experience.
The exhibition of jewelry art, called “The National Treasures of Russia” displays legendary masterpieces of Russian gold and silver jewelry of the late 18th – 20th centuries, Different parts of the exhibition illustrate the main stages of the jewelry art development.
The State Fund of Precious Metals and Precious Stones was founded in Russia in 1719 in order to provide the storage of coronation regalia, and later of rare gems and outstanding jewelry.
Ticket prices start at 400 roubles.
The Italian “Mercatino Di Natale” fair
Dec 15 – Dec 17
The Italian “Mercatino Di Natale” fair will be held at the Hlebzavod art space (Novodmitrovskaya St 1, steps from Dmitrovskaya metro station) from December 15 – December 17. It will encompass traditional food corners, handmade items and souvenirs. The entrance is free. Operating hours from 11.00 – 21.00.
Dec 15 – Dec 17
The International Doll Ball is the biggest doll exhibition and fair in the world! This year 1220 masters from 26 countries will take part in the event at Gostiniy Dvor from Dec 15 until December 17.

1 Day with “The Great Modernists”
“The Great Modernists” exhibition opens again for 1 day ONLY in the ARTPLAY Design Center. The works of the greatest modernism painters, such as Paul Gauguin, Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Rousseau, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Gustav Klimt, Paul Signac, Edvard Munch, Amedeo Modigliani, Wassily Kandinsky, and Kazimir Malevich will be on display. This is an original and integrated show consisting of nine short films covering the core images used by each of the artists. In total, the exhibition displays about 1000 pieces of art from more than 20 museums all around the world.Ticket price is 1000 rubles.Special price before December 1 is 700 rubles. The “We Are Stars” Show
Until March 2018
The Moscow Planetarium presents the premiere of the We Are Stars full-dome show, which explores the mysteries of chemistry in space.
During the film, viewers will be able to go back 13.8 billion years to see how the first hydrogen atoms were created and how the synthesis of carbon and the formation of the molecules of life took place. The film’s creators used super computer simulation data on the formation of the early Universe provided by the Institute for Computational Cosmology at Durham University (UK). The film has won several awards at various film festivals.
The film is available in Russian, English, Spanish, French and Chinese languages.
The total duration of the film is 25 minutes. In December, the show will run daily except Tuesday, at 1.50 pm.Address Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya 5 .Entrance prices start at 450 rubles.
“Journey into Christmas”
Dec 22 – Jan 14
The annual Christmas festival “Journey Into Christmas” will take place steps from Red Square with dozens of special stalls and tents, playgrounds and stages. The event will commence on December 22.
The festival encompasses 38 special zones in the city centre. More than 100 stalls, selling different products, will be within the bounds of the fair. Operating hours from 10 am – 11 pm. The festival will be held until January 14. The entrance is free.
The “Ice Moscow” Festival
Dec 29 – Jan 8
The “Ice Moscow” Festival will open on December 29 at Poklonnaya Hill. The main city monuments, museums, the Kremlin, Bolshoi Theatre and other buildings made from ice, are open to all visitors.
Operating hours 12.00-22.00. Entrance fee is 300 rubles for adults.
“Peter Bruegel. Inverted World”
Until 31 Jan 2018
Pieter Bruegel was the greatest member of a large and important southern Netherlandish family of artists in the 16th-17th century. He was an astoundingly inventive painter and draftsman, and, due to the continuity of the fa,ily trade and the industry that developed in prints and his works, Bruegel’s impact was widespread and long lasting. The exhibition at ARTPLAY is an original and integrated show consisting of short films covering the core works and images of the painter.

The first retrospective of Takashi Murakami in Russia will be on display at Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, offering a completely new perspective on this prolific artist’s output.
